Sightline Systems Selected to Provide IIoT Analytics for Facility Management Solution in Japan

Integrated IIoT analytics solution provides facility management for data centers and office buildings

Fairfax, VA – December 8, 2017 — Sightline Systems announces that its Enterprise Data Management (EDM) for Manufacturing software has been selected to provide real-time, millisecond data collection, visualization and analysis as part of a joint Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solution to promote energy conservation at the Shizuoka Data Center in Nippon, Japan.

Sightline worked with three companies to deliver the combined IIoT solution, with Tokai Communications providing the IoT platform, NTT Facilities providing the data center air conditioning system and Takeuchi Corporation collecting data from the air conditioning equipment.

The integrated, end-to-end IIoT solution collects server, air conditioner and weather data, such as power consumption, temperature and humidity from systems at each facility, and correlates thousands of data points in real-time to predict future performance and improve operational efficiency.

“By continuously monitoring the efficiency and performance of its data center, Shizuoka has found real-time insight into the cost of its operations and utilities,” says Brandon Witte, President and CEO of Sightline Systems. “Sightline Systems’ advanced EDM software can monitor and analyze complex data in real time, allowing for improved efficiency and cost savings.”

The partners plan to convert the field-tested solution into an IIoT platform for the facility management of data centers and office buildings to dramatically reduce utility costs, improve air conditioner cooling efficiency, detect performance issues and predict future air conditioner capacity.

By comparing actual air conditioning equipment performance over time with projected equipment management and maintenance schedules, the IIoT solution will allow organizations to reduce inefficiency and save operating costs by understanding the relationship between temperature and system performance across multiple facilities and locations.
